The time had come. After twenty-eight years, the elders have finally decided it was time to activate their secret weapon.
Carefully, they chose the one who would be the watcher over the weapon.
"Me?!?" gasped Kasa, a young, spunky, woman. Few of the elders looked at each other in doubt.
"The spirits of ancients have spoken. It shall be you, child." spake the leader of the elders, Shaya.
Kasa appeared very excighted, but quickly caught whim of it and straightend her face. She respectfully bowed her midwaist.
"It's an honor. I promise I won't let you or the spirits of the ancients down."
"Good, my child. Now go forth into the North, where you shall find it." she slowly waved a hand to the door, Kasa was exscused. Kasa bowed once more and made her way out the door. Once out, she gave a child-hood friend a high five.
“Yes! I’m the one!” she cheered excitedly. Inside however, the elders watched disappointed.
“The spirits must be wrong, the child is no warrior or wise enough to take on such a duty. Especially for a Weaver, and a woman.” spake one of the elders, Tala. Those who agreed nodded.
“She is not a warrior, no, but she is the youngest Weaver to have ever achieved their animal spirit so early.” stated Waso, with proud grin on his face. For he too was a Weaver.
“You have too much pride, dead Waso.” snarled Tala.
“Ah, it is not pride, but joy. She is my great granddaughter.”
“What if the child does not succeed?” broke in another elder.
“She will!” responded Waso.
“She doesn’t have the power to-!” shouted another. Soon the elders were split on sides and were arguing. Shaya however, was silent as she stood meditating, speaking to the spirits. She was the only one who could. Her lips parted slightly,
“Silence.” she said in normal tone. Her silvery eyes slowly opened as she looked upon the other seven elders with a frown. Especially at Tala.
“Do you, Tala. Disagree with the great spirit’s decision?” she said wisely. Tala glared and replied sternly and began to speak, however, Shaya was already a step ahead of him.
“Do ye not have a single thread of faith in the spirit’s as you do with the child?” Tala was taken aback, it was extremely disrespectful to disreguard the great spirits.
“N-no..” he replied quietly. Shaya looked up upon all in the room.
“Have faith in Kasa. For it was the Spirit’s choice. She will be the watcher of the weapon.”
Kasa took one more look at her village, before her body meshed into the form of a black leopard. By paws, she traveled far North up hill. The only problem was...
"Well..they said North..but I don't even know WHAT I'm looking for.." Finally, after searching the area, she saw what must be..where the weapon
was hidden. There it was, an old shack. There was much overgrowth of vegetation covering the shack like weeds. It sat right on the coast of the lake. Her body took shape of a human again.
"Here we go..." said Kasa, taking out a knife and cutting away at the tangled mess of vines. The old, door wasn't too hard to open,
it just fell down soon as the vines were cut. Dust floated up into the air, Kasa coughed, waved a hand and stepped in.
It was dark, the only light shown was the light coming from the door behind her. Suddenly, there it was. She had heard many folk tale stories of this specific
cybord. Kasa prayed it wouldn't kill her, after all, no one knew excactly how it would react.
Kasa looked closely at it's face. It appeared to be male cybord, his face was stern, maybe even mean.
"Um...Wake up?" she spoke, unsure of how to activate the hunk of metal.
"Awaken great cybord!?" "Rise and shine!?" "Open?!!" Kasa stood there for a moment, glaring at him.
"Stupid hunk of metal.." she cursed and kicked the borg. There was a horrible creak and the borg came falling down onto it's face, taking Kasa with him.
"AHH!" she yelped, she twisted around and started to beat the borg, until suddenly she hit a button on the back of his neck..
The cyborg lit its eyes up and flew upon its feet. The hunks of plants went flying with him. He
stood as tall as a gaint looking over the girl.
"Who are you?"... he stated quickly and fixed on the question. The machine sput out smoke from its pipes on its back. The war had started over 28 years ago... and finally they had
begun they're counter. The machine still stood with much composure. The shack was in shambles with the wood starting to crack all over.
Kasa looked up at the cyborg in shock, mouth agaped. Quickly she recomposed herself and got to her feet slowly.
“Kasa. My name is Kasa and I was chosen to awaken you. We are in need of your help.” she said, respectfully bowing to the cyborg. Her clothing consisted of light leathers, decorated beautifully with beads and paint. The sleeves up on her shoulders were open seemed, showing her skin. She wore a cloth, long skirt and sandles. Across her chest was a medicine pack. Her hair was shiny black, with the tips dyed dark blue. Her eyes, were amazingly golden, like a cat. Upon her right arm, was a tribal tattoo that wrapped all the way down to her fingers.
“I was sent by the elders of the Airmecians, just south of here.”
The cyborgs head flung up with energy flowing from his body, and the pipes that were attached to his back started to pump out smoke. “AHHH!!!!” he screamed out, as the mighty roar vibrated through the shack. The wood rumbled and the ground crumbled. The shack lost its standing and fell to the ground. The cyborg dropped to his knees and bowed. “ Your wish is my command” he stated as he clenched where his heart would be if he was organic. “ You are the owner… you are the tailor of my fate.” he spoke out strongly.
Kasa ducked to her knees and covered her head as the shack fell to ruin. She coughed out the aged dust and dirt. Slowly she made her way back on to her feet again. She was taken aback at the cyborgs sudden obedience. Her sleek eyes blinked twice. She honestly didn’t except this. Was she really suppose to be the one in charge of the cyborg?
“Err..uhh.” she said, confused, “Okay. Let’s go back to my village. I must speak with the elders..” she said, dusting herself off. “By the way, you have a name?”
“ They call me Conaer 6000” he said bowing in a ordered fasion. “ I am ready to depart with your order.” He stated keeping his conformity refined. His muscles were more than enough to make a girl whimper and his stance was enough to make the toughest warrior cry.
“Mind if I call you just Conaer?” she winced as his muscles were ripped. His stance didn’t help the image either. This was Kasa’s first time to see an real android up close. The stories were true, they looked like real people, but also very fierce. How frightening he was! However, his attitude made her want to giggle. He acted so prim and proper. It just didn’t fit with the rippling muscles and awesome stance.
“ What you wish is your ultimate decision that I will respect all through.” he stated quickly.
Kasa nodded. “Very well.” trying to mimic his voice. She turned around and silently giggled. It wasn’t like her to act like this, but this guy was just too much. She fake coughed.
“Um, this way then.” she said, carefully stepping her way out of the rubble and onto the sand. The way back into the forest was through a narrowed, well vegetated trail.
When they made it to the village, it was tucked well into the woods. Everyone stopped and stared at Conaer and Kasa. The people backed away from the road, both curious and fearful of Conaer.
“Don’t mind them, they’re just not used to seeing a…well.. Friendly cyborg..” she said in a hushed tone.
Kasa led them into a peculiar shaped, log building. It was the village Hall. Inside, were the elders, they were sitting by the fire pit inside with their insensce, totems and everything in between that a spiritual elder would have.
Kasa bowed before them all, on her knees. Then, she stood and came closer.
“Well I have awaken and brought the cyborg to you. My quest is complete.” she said, bowing her head.
The elder’s stared at each other and talked quietly. They talked for a few moments then turned back to the girl and the borg.
“Aaah. You have made us very proud of your efforts Kasa… you have done us a great task. Though we ask you a final task to bestow upon thee. Take the machine to the city and find a group known as the Yeko’s, they will know what to do with the machine… Then you are free as your soul is forever free upon the wind… tis your last task I have to ask of you.” They stood awaiting her reply.
Glee came over Kasa’s face for a moment before she restained it. Would this mean she would an official Weaver?
“I shall do this last quest for thee.” she placed her hands together and bowed deeply and turned to the door.
“Okay, let’s go.”
The machine turned quickly ready to exit the hut. He fallowed quickly behind Kasa.
After an hour of walking silence, Kasa began the questions out of loneness.
“So, you have any clue that’s been going on for the past years?”
“ I have no recollection of what the histories include. I am only aware of common sense laws… to protect and serve.” he stated .
“Ah…well my fellow metal friend… man mistreated mechanicals.. In return, cyborgs rebelled and turned anything with a computer chip evil. Horrible wars broke out.. Leaving man to be pushed back into the wild for their sins. That generation of man is long gone, and the new want to begin new. However, the cyborgs have not forgiven of the past and continue to kill every human they see. You. However, by legend is special because you are the last who wasn’t corrupted by the other cyborgs. A group of people managed to take you and hid you in that shack until you were needed..” she explained, “That’s about all there is on the update. I would understand if you hate humans.” she stopped and looked at him, just wondering if what she told was suppose to be forbidden.
The cyborg took a second and nodded. “ The cyborgs who are programmed differently than me have no pending effect on my emotion. I am supposed to follow and serve YOUR orders, no one else’s.” Conaer said sternly. He stepped with the suit on his back that made a mighty crunch on the ground. “I have no recollection on any of my programmed abilities. I although have a piece of information programmed within my chip…about the location of great weapons… These weapons were created than spread out throughout the world. It is essential that I collect each part of the weapon.” . Conaer continued following kasa closely.
“Weapons? We weren’t told of any weapons you acquired.” She was relieved that Conaer didn’t go berserk. Kasa was a little worried at his short silence.
“By the way, if you didn’t hear what the elders said, I’m suppose to take you to the city on this continent. Which would be the civicies compound. After that, I won’t be your master or whatever. I’ll be heading back to my village. I’m sorry to tell you that, but you’ll be on your own. You shouldn’t depend on people all the time, there are still some out there who are corrupted and might possibly use your abilities for bad.” She felt sort of awkward saying such a things, she had never been in this sort of situation before.
“… You will always be master…Master.” he stated firmly with his arm up in salute. He continued with her on the road. “ The weapons are set at second priority then.” he stated. As they walked through the day the sun hovered over them, with the trees blocking every now and then.
“I have questions…” Conaer said.
This sort of worried Kasa. She gave a little worried laugh. Surely his silly little master thing will end when they get to the city. Hopefully. “Please, just call me Kasa.” she urged.
“What sort of questions, Conaer?”
“Alright Kasa” he stated following closely behind as they traveled through the forests. The ground had a bronze trail that showed the foot steps of many men and women who traversed these roads.
“ What is the anatomy below my waist for?” he stated bluntly.
“Um, pardon me? You mean your feet? The things your standing on?” Kasa stopped in her tracks, eyes wide.
“No… Higher in pelvic area… I have dangling appendages”
Kasa quickly turned her back, trying very hard to stifle her laughter, and embarrassment. Thank goodness no one was around to hear this conversation. “Pardon me, I must think about your qu-question-hehe.” she said. Finally after two minutes of giggles and deep breathing, she turned back to Conaer, trying to not eye his pelvic area out of her own curiosity.
“ERM.. To be correct with you.. I’m guessing you were built anatomically correct. Well.. You see.. Being biological like a human for example.. To make more humans we require uh.. Umm. A ritual called mating… Biological things replicate their species by mating. You’re body is designed as a male. I’m a female. Err.. Those dangling appendages is what male humans have to use to mate.. But hopefully yours is just for looks and doesn’t actually work.” She liked that idea. Hopefully he doesn’t have and sort of chemicals to actually carry out the duty. Before his mind goes corrupt, she quickly added.
“Yours isn’t real, it’s just for physical correctness. To make you look real…heh.”
“Does this please you?”
“Pardon me??” she gasped
“ Are you pleased to have me anatomically correct? Is it of any use to you?”
Kasa’s face flushed bright red. Her eyes were wide as day. But she was one to tell the truth and only the truth.
“Honestly I’m quite baffled. Err. And no, it’s isn’t any use to me. Are you flirting with me?? Can you actually do that?!” she then gasped, covering a hand over her mouth. How could that be possible?!
“ I do not understand. If my appendages are of no use to you, then I can cut them off.” He dropped the lower part of his armor , and his lower ‘Part’ Was free falling. “Would you like to remove them?”
Kasa screamed and ran back a couple spaces, sheltering her eyes. “No! No! Conaer! You jerk stop it!” she yelped. “I don’t want to remove them, don’t be showing those to people! They’re suppose to be sacred! Just leave them alone and pull up your armor! Don’t mind them!” she said, back turned and covering her eyes.
Conaer stood confused but pulled up his armor pieces. “ Well I am deeply sorry for offending you… Do you wish to punish me…?” he stated with his head down in shame.
“P-punish you?” she repeated in a confused tone. “No I don’t wish to punish you. I wouldn’t even know how to punish you, especially if you can’t feel pain.” she waited until she heard the clanking of his armor being pulled up before turning around and coming back.
“Can you feel pain? Or can’t you?” her face was still blushing.
“ I can feel emotions, pain, sorrow… all of these things I am programmed to feel… I just am not entirely aware of these feelings.” he stated sternly. “ I am sorry for being a burden.” .
Suddenly Kasa felt horrible. She wasn’t sure if she was being too harsh, or if he was putting a possibly guilt trip on her. But, as a peaceful person she was, she had to mend things.
“Oh no! no no your not a burden. I’m sorry if I had upset you. You see, I don’t know much about cyborgs. I’m just a girl raised in a forest. I know more about the land and creatures than about machinery. You’re the first cyborg I’ve ever met.” She gave him a gentle pat on the back, carefully.
He nodded. “ That is fine, I realized and understand what you are saying. Is theyre anything that I should be aware of?”
There would be lots that he would have to be aware of. Many of the things were concerned with sexual things. Such as if they were to go into the city, that some woman may not know he is a cyborg and try to make a move on him. Last thing they needed was a sexual, mechanical hero.
“That’s it for now.” she stated. “Let’s camp somewhere for the night, we’ll continue tomorrow.” she said, walking up ahead a little until she found a nice place to camp.
“You able to start fire by any chance?” she asked, picking up some twigs and sticks.
Conaer hand extended out and transformed into a pistol like gun. He waited for a second and then a blast of fire escaped the barrel. The twigs were definitely burning.
“Ah!” gasped Kasa, dropping the twigs on the ground, they burned furiously. “Well, that’s good.” she said, quickly she tossed more sticks upon the fire to feed it before it went out.
Kasa sat down, grabbed her little purse-like pack and pulled out some food and began to eat.
“Do you eat anything, Conaer?”
“ I am sorry , I am unable to consume any organic or non organic subsidence.” He stated quickly. Trying not to stare at the food.
“Mm, okay. That’s cool. You don’t know what your miss’n.” she said, biting into a fish sandwich. Not much later, Kasa was asleep laying on her back. The fire slowly died out and turned into embers as a chilled breeze blew by. Kasa shivered a little and rolled onto her side and curled up.
Conaer had gone into hibernation mode when they had first gone to bed. He snapped awake silently. He scanned the area than noticed Kasa’s body temperature was falling. He crawled silently next to her and used the energy from his body to raise the temperature to keep her warm.
Kasa felt the warmth and naturally cuddled next to Conaer. She let out a little sigh and her body relaxed. The warmth felt delightful. This lasted for nearly a hour until a owl above flew out of the tree above them and swooped down and caught a mouse. The shriek of the mouse awoke Kasa quietly. Instantly, she felt something wasn’t right. She felt someone close to her. On reaction, she sat up and slapped Conaer across the face. “AH!” she screamed shortly, then gasping and putting a hand over her mouth. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to! You scared me! What were you doing?!”
Conaer held his face as his eyes grew wide. “ I was trying to keep your body tempature at a healthy level.” he stated with a whimper inching away slowly , as tears started to stream down his cheeks. “ I am sorry for any inconvenience.” he stated getting close to a tree and laying against it. He didn’t know why he had felt sorrow from this, he didn’t know why he felt hurt. He knew that it was his duty to protect her. He didn’t understand why he was treated so oddly for following his duties.
Kasa blushed, now she felt really horrible. Conaer actually had tears in his eyes. What a miserable night this was.
“Conaer, I’m really sorry.. Please forgive me.. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” she tried to think fast to explain why. This was getting more difficult each time.
“I’m not used to sleeping with a man- I mean.. next to a man or a man-droid before.” she waved a finger in a lecturing matter, though her voice was calm. “Men and woman aren’t suppose to sleep together until marriage. It’s forbidden.” she explained. “I thank you for trying to keep me warm, it was very nice of you.” Kasa smiled incurably, “But I’ll be fine. It’s normal for body temperature to fall while I sleep.”
He felt hurt that he couldn’t fulfill his duty. But he had to push down those feelings. “ I understand.” he stated staring at the ground. He was looking at the ground as he huddled up against the tree.
Kasa still felt bad, but not as bad as before. He still looked upset. Oh how to explain to a blank chip.
She wanted to ask if he was sure that he understood, but she was far too sleepy now. All that excightment tired her out. “Okay…g’night..” she said quietly with a yawn and laid back down to sleep..
He had sat there the whole night with his eyes open. When the sun had finally rose he lifted his body up from the hibernation. He went out to the woods. An hour passed than he had returned with an hand full of eggs and the other hand full of herbs from the ground. He started a fire and started to cook the eggs, mixing the herbs into the yolk, keeping the food as clean as possible.
A delightful smell came to Kasa’s nose. “Oooo what smells so good, Gramma?” she said quietly. However when she opened her eyes, she remembered where she was.
“Oh. Nevermind that.” she said, blinking at Conaer, having one of those ‘I don’t know what I just said moments’.
“Oh you know how to cook, Conaer? Awesome!” she said cheerfully, watching over his shoulder as he cooked. “Eggs huh? Sounds and looks good!”
He put the food onto a large leaf then handed her the food. “we should begin moving as soon as possible.” he stated.
Kasa gobbled up the food quickly. “It’s delicious!” she said with a big smile. “Thank you Conaer. And yes, we should get moving soon. I don’t like cities much, so I don’t want to have to stay there too long.”
Within a couple minutes she was finished and ready to go. “Okay let’s go! Onward!” she said cheerfully, beginning back on the trail.
Conaer nodded following close behind, not letting much distance getting between them. “Maybe I should state my purposes to relieve some confusion of misguided conclusions.” he said straight out.
“Huh?” That so just flew over Kasa’s head. Conaer’s speech sometimes confused her. He spoke so proper. It took a second to figure out what he had ment.
“Oh, uh sure go ahead.” she replied, looking forward.
“ I was activated by you, making you the master. My job from this point forward is to protect you with my own life, to make sure harm does not become of you. Whether or not you feel like you can take care of your own self, my duty stays the same…I am your guardian.” he stated sternly.
Kasa stopped in her tracks and looked at Conaer with a baffled expression. “My guardian?” Now she felt like she bit off a little more than she can chew, or more like, she was given more than she could chew. It wasn’t her decision to go, the eldest of the elders had a revalation or vision that she was the one to go activate Conaer, but they never said anything about having to be his master. Kasa had no clue what she was about to get involved with. They said she would be free after she dropped him off at the city.
“Conaer, the elders said I was only suppose to take you to the city. I have no clue what lies for you there. Do you understand? It all depends on what happens… the elders never really tell the truth. I need to go back and finish my weaver training.”
“ I understand everything and comprehend and will follow every order that is given … except for the order of leaving your companionship. It is against my code to leave you and Will ALWAYS be here to protect you and watch over you.” .
Kasa slapped a hand on her face, she stood rigid and somewhat helpless.
“Now your just confusing me. I don’t think I can comprehend you. I was only sent to awaken you and get you started Conaer. I can’t be your master, I don’t even know my full potential fighting skills. I’m not ready for war, but you are. Or as so they say. What will you do if when we get to the city, I have to leave and you have to stay?”
“ Sorry … I will only say this one more time to make it easier for you to understand. I have to , regardless your plans… always protect you… My chip had been mantled by an uknown force… to have my ultimate and indispensable goal to protect you no matter what happens and no matter your choice and deciksion. The only way to stop this goal is to reprogram my chip.” he stated firmly.
“Oh? How do you that?” she grinned, “I’m kidding Conaer. You can take a joke right?” she sighed. “Let’s just forget this for now. We’ll see what happens when we get there. If you’re lucky you can still be my pet or whatever. We shouldn’t get into an argument, you sound like your getting pretty testy anyway with this whole master deal. Just relax okay?’ she said giving a peace sign.
He nodded. As they walked, the forest got slimmer. Then it started to rain. The sky turned a scratchy gray from the skies changing.
“Uhoh, looks like rain.” sighed Kasa. Hold on a second, I got to do something real quick. STAY here.” she said, giving him a quick, stern look. Kasa went behind some large bushes and a tree and began to undress.
“ Why are you removing your protective clothing?… I should state that I have selective sight and can see through any organic material.” Conaer said.
Kasa froze. “Conaer stop looking!! Don’t be looking at people when they’re undressing or naked! That’s rude!” she yelped , trying her best to cover herself. “Because I have to- to transform!” she yelped.
“ you don’t have to worry about your body, I have no interest In such things. You humans are so awkward…” he said turning away.
Chills spread up through Kasa’s spine. “S-So! You still shouldn’t be looking! You can go for just a minute without looking at me can’t you? Cause it’s starting to freak me out.” she said. Quickly she placed her clothes in her bag. Her body melted into black fur and her body morphed to the black leopard. On the right side of her arm, was her tattoo, only it was golden in colour.
“Okay, I’m ready.” she said, coming out from behind the tree.
“Kasa Look out ! There’s A beast near you!” Conaer said as he charged the leopard.
Kasa’s big round cat eyes grew larger. She raised her hackles and let out a hiss. “No I AM THE BEAST!” she said frantically.
“Oh No it already Ate her!” Conaer screamed charging faster.
Kasa screamed, backed up to the tree and quickly formed back into her human figure. “NO! NO! IT’S ME YOU IDOIT! STOP!”
“ Oh Kasa, Im glad you were able to hide… I must of scared the beast away… You should really put on your clothes…” he said quickly looking away.
Kasa was on the verge of tears, this was just too much. She grabbed a large leaf and covered herself.
“No Conaer! I was the big cat! It’s my power, I am a weaver-.”
“… Does not compute…”…
Kasa looked at Conaer hoplessly like there wasn’t a single strain of hope. “Look. I can turn into the cat. Watch closely.” Once again she melted back into the leopard.
His eyes grew furious. “ Kasa ! Where did you go!… You… Your back! Il kill you!”.
Kasa let out a feline yelp and cowarded, hunching up into a ball, looking as innocent as possible. “I am Kasa!” she pleaded. Perhaps he couldn’t understand weaver speak? When in animal form, they spoke in a different language.
He charged in faster. Tackling her to the ground , on top of her.
Kasa let out a roar. Her roar became a scream as she turned back into a human. “DON’T HURT ME!” she cried. She looked up at him, her face flushed red. Her whole body was naked upon the ground, soft, radiant skin. She had her arms wrapped around him slightly, in attempt to get him off. Her golden eyes were wide with embarressment and fright.
As he layed on top of her motionless body, her breasts pressed against his chest. He stared slowly into her eyes and felt confused and also ashamed that he was this close to her.
It was awkwardly silent. Kasa felt very odd being close to a man-like body. Besides that, she was downright embarrassed being naked.
“What? Get off me Conaer..” she stated, confused and fluttered.
“as you wish…” he got up slowly extremely confused onto why she was angry, naked and why that damn cat kept disappearing.
“Kasa lifted herself up and hid once again behind the tree, dressing her clothes back on. ‘I can’t believe this.. This is so ridiculous. Now my clothes are going to get all wet.’ she thought just as a drop fell on her nose. Soon it was pouring with rain. Kasa sighed and came back out.
“Let’s go…”
Conaer felt ashamed and hung his head down. “I am sorry.” he said following close behind.
Kasa fell silent. She didn’t know what to say, holding her back from slapping him or ditching him there was the fact that he was an innocent cyborg. He was clueless about the world around him.
“Wait, what are you ashamed of?” what could he be ashamed of if he didn’t realize if she was the cat.
“because I have disappointed you…And that is unacceptable to my goal.” He stated a little distant.
Coming upon the horizon was the gate of the city. It looked as though it was a big machine, the walls looked as though they had gears popping out and springs working the doors. The traffic of vehicles could be heard from afar. The tree’s shook violently as the rain dropped down. Out of one of the bushes popped out a man in a gray suit armed with a firearm called a dopplar. These weapons used the energy around them for ammunition and looked like a normal handgun.
“Just..never mind it Conaer.” replied Kasa. Finally they arrived to the city. Soon she will be able to turn back around and go home. However, the man in the gray suit startled Kasa at first, until she recognized them as the city guard.
“Oh thank goodness. Could you show us the way to the Leader of the Yogo? We’re new to the city.” said Kasa in a friendly manner, walking up to him. “I’d appreciate if you put that weapon away.” she said hesitantly, staying her distance as the weapon was pointed at her.
The man nodded lifting up the weapon cautiously. “sorry bout that folks… we have been kind of strung tight lately with all the new military regulations that have been being pressed on the citizens…The Yogo don’t roll anymore either so… you’ll probably have to look towards the bars first.”..
“They don’t?” Kasa glanced at Conaer for a second with a frown. “Well I guess we don’t have a choice.” she said, looking back at the guard.
“Thank you sir.” she said with a bow and continued walking.
The man nodded and continued off into the forest. The journey had tooken them across the forest and into the city. The busy city was hearable all the way from the forest. The towns people were walking through and fro back and forth.
Conaer took his strides with Kasa, Until they got to the gate… He stopped still in the road.
Kasa had taken a few steps forward until she no longer felt Conaer stepping close behind. She stopped and looked at him.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” she said confused.
“Look…” he said. He pointed towards the gate were soldiers had all lined up with firearms, all pointing at him. A man with a long black coat and gray/white hair stepped towards them, the wind blowing his coat, lifting it off the ground. He stood abnormally tall, and had an eye patch in his left eye. His eyes were a brown shade with his hands resembling an hardened warrior…
“I am sorry miss … but this machine must come with us. You will be escorted to House tier 2... With maximum security… you will be free to go after we question you…” The man said stepping forward In an hostile fashion.
“W-What!? We didn’t do anything? Where ever he goes, I go!” she said pointing at Conaer. She growled at the man as she stepped forward.
The mans face tensed. “ Where he is going , he will come out liquid metal…” he said growling back as all the soldiers lifted their weapons.
“You do not have a choice…”.
Kasa’s eyes glared. She didn’t like this man one bit.
“Don’t lay a single finger on him. I was suppose to bring him to the Yogo Leader. We will leave once we find him. Please let us pass.” she said, backing up against Conaer, holding her arms out to protect him.
One of the soldiers snuck up behind Kasa and attempted to bash her in the head. The butt from his rifle smashed her in the head as the other soldiers ran up to hold down Conaer.
Conaer struggled at first but noticed that it would only make more trouble so he complied with the soldiers.
“ Good… get that scrap metal into the Military research compound…” The patched man stated.
“Sarge Rutsky… what about the girl?” one of the privates asked.
“…First ask her questions… then dispose of her…” He barked out, laughing.
Kasa was out like a light, her head bobbed slightly as her conscious faded in and out. All she would hear was the tall man laughing, and the last thing she saw was Conaer being held back hopelessly.
The two were brought through the gate but then went separate directions. The city was huge. The buildings looked like they had been built with giant lime stones. Everything had a uniform white pain to it, the buildings were almost all alike. The roads were paved with cement and traveled busy upon with four wheeled metal machines. The sky was still cloudy though giant billboards of products that were sold all over the city covered the sky. The city was massive beyond comprehension.
Kasa vaguely saw what was flashing by her eyes. The light that came off the white buildings blinded her, and all the bright colors of advertisements gave her a headache.
“Where….uuhhnn.. Conaer? Conaer..” she groaned, holding a hand on her head. “S-stop..”
“Shaddup.” grunted one of the guards driving. The other in the passenger seat threw a blanket over her head, leaving her in darkness. Kasa faded out again.
She felt her body being lifted up and thrown over someone’s shoulder. There were commands being barked from all over. None of which Kasa could make out. Next she felt herself being sat in a chair, her wrists cuffed to it. Next, there came a horrible shout along with a stinging sensation on the left side of her face. Kasa’s neck ached. Her mind faded for a second and then she felt a horrible burning coldness. Suddenly she snapped awake, with a horrible headache. She was went and freezing cold.
The soldiers were talking to themselves in the corner of the room, keeping to themselves. The room only had two exits… the window, and the door. Fighting these men wouldn’t be the smartest approach… sneaking out would be more resourceful. The door would be the way for those who wanted to get hounded by soldiers.
Kasa’s head rolled on her shoulders as she looked from the door to the window. If she shifted, she could possibly get out safe with some catty works. Kasa waited until both men were in deep conversation.
Swiftly she knelt down, hands on the floor. Quick and agile she tiptoed her way to the window, opened it. Luckily the rain made the window open easy. Once out, she closed the window and climbed onto the balcony. She was on the fifth floor.
“Great” she sighed. It would be much easier as a cat to get down. And so she went, forming into the black leopard. She leaped from edge to edge until she landed safely. Perhaps for now, it would be easier like this, that way they wouldn’t recognize her.
The citizens caught eye of kasa in her cat form and screamed running out of the streets. “WILD COUGAR!” They screamed, ignorant to even what species of cat she was. One of them ran into an ally with a phone scanning the area carefully. “well see what animal control will say about this!” the citizen was an old coo key lady. “Damn cats…” she muttered dialing into her phone.
The bar was right down the street just a few more blocks.
Kasa cowarded into a dark corner. She watched the old lady curiously, she wasn’t sure what she men tby calling animal control, but she didn’t like it one bit. That old lady was going to blow her cover! Kasa let out a growl, charged the old lady. Kasa lifted up a paw and swatted the phone out of the lady’s hand then took off.
She ran off down the street, cars honking their horns and people screamed. Maybe this was making too much of a scene. She switched back into a human behind a dumpster completely naked.
“Ugh.. Good thing I packed.. Knew this was going to happen some time.” she said and dressed.
Kasa started at the bar, she walking in as everyone glanced at her. She stuck out sorely. “Exscuse me, I’m looking for Yogo? Can someone help me? Please it’s really important.” she said kindly, looking hopeless. She hoped Conaer wasn’t made into metal scrap by now.
The people within the bar were dancing within the dance hall. The bars were filled with drunks, the bartender was swaying with the beat. The criminal and gangsters were in the booths in the corner trying to look indiscrete.
The bright lights and olde music was enough to make an fanatic start crying and dancing their groove off. The band was playing in the far corner entertaining the regulars.
The bartender lifted a eyebrow… “ you mean Yeko’s? … yeah that poor sap Cobalt is over there blowing his money on some entertainment…” he said pointing over in another corner where a man about a little bit shorter than conaer, with short gray hair with white tips. He stood lifting his eyebrows at a stripper moving down and up the pole. He danced in beat with the girl, the blonde beauty. He pulled out some cash from his pockets and put it in the women’s garments. “Aye, go buy yourself a drink honey!” He said sitting back down at a table.
“ you see… that’s him… he’s kind of… well broken these days … he’s fragile… like glass, so be careful…” the bartender warned kasa.
Kasa was distgusted at the old leader. She watched as the woman walked up to the bar. She turned to the tender and thanked him. She walked up to this Colbalt, keeping her chin up and her stride strong. She stopped a couple spaces in front of him, glaring down at him
“I am in need of your services. I‘ve brought the weapon ConAer 6000 to you.” she stated.
Cobalt lifted his head wobbling it around on his shoulders. “aye… any I Have needs to be fulfilled… if you fulfill these needs… Il do what ever you want…” he said lifting his left eyebrow.
Kasa stood there a little confused. She sort of feared what sort of ‘needs’ he wanted. “Alright, what drink do you want?” she tried, licking her top lip real quick in a nervous matter.
Cobalt nodded. “ come with me…” he said leading her to the bar. “Yo Alfie , need the key to the up stairs…” he said lifting his right eyebrow towards kasa.
The bartender nodded… “ just don’t leave no messes.” he said in a stern tone. The key was tossed at cobalt. He caught the keys and went up a set of rickety stairs into a room at the top.
Kasa paused, she didn’t like that. Perhaps it was a distraction so they could talk in private about Conaer. Reluctantly, she follow up the old, rickety stairs. It smelled horrible, like stale corn chips and cigarrette smoke. In the corner was a old bed, and on the wall was a mirror. There was only one small, circular window that viewed into the road. Kasa ignored what the room appeared to be used for.
“So will you help us? They’ve taken Conaer and I’m afraid they may be breaking him into pieces by now. We must hurry.” Kasa stated seriously.
“ Yeah Il help at one price… You… Me… Now…” Cobalt said raising an eyebrow.
Kasa gaped at Colbalt in disgust. “Where the hell is your respect? If you think this is what I’m here for, your wrong you ol’ coot.” she planted her feet firmly on the floor and folded her arms, glaring at Colbalt with her golden, cat-like eyes.
“Ha! Respect!? Maybe its back in the ol whisky bottle… don’t know. You drive a hard bargain though…If you wont sleep with me… Take off your top… The only reason I am cutting my prices so low is because conaer is my responsibility anyways. How bout it beautiful?” he said raising his eyebrow.
“W-what? He’s your responsibility? Well he must be having some sort of malfunction, because he seems to think I’m his master and won’t have it any other way.” she said, putting her hands on her hips, hoping to change the subject and perhaps his mind.
“ Nope … That’s his original program… he was made to protect the one who turned him on… Like a guardian angel… Its his duty…He has emotions and all of the such… If he is unable to fulfill his duty… he will feel insignificant. Right now , he doesn’t want anything more than to be by your side going where ever you go… you’re his purpose… his reason for being is you… So… if you want to help him, a little skin is a small price for a very valuable friend.” he said tilting his head slightly.
For once, Kasa felt awe about Conaer. Kasa grimaced at Colbalt, a shiver went down her spine. She put her hands up on defense.
“That’s just ridiculous! I don’t need to show you anything! Some legendary leader you are ..this is a serious matter!” she still didn’t budge.
“ Ha your robotic friend is doomed than…Have a nice day!” he said walking towards the door.
Kasa paniced. “If you know how important this is, you can’tt turn away! We don’t have time for your pervertey habits! You can’t just turn us down.” Kasa begged, but still in a serious tone, stepping in front of him.
He shook his head. “That’s the funny thing about this world… nothing HAS to be done… unless you can persuade them to do it… I can live with it just fine… My fighting days are long gone… Anyways I don’t want to do things I don’t have to do…” he said getting ready to exit through the door.
Kasa just wanted to go primal on him in her cat form at that moment. She hated Cobalt , he had no sense of honor, pride, or respect. He was a greedy one. “Forgive me great spirits.” she groaned under her breath, her heart dropping low with shame.
“WAIT!” she yelped, “Fine I will show you, but you must swear to help us, and if dare ask of this again-I’ll slice you into pieces.” she warned, her body tensed.
He raised his brows. “I never betray my word…” he said standing and waited for the show.
Kasa sort of stood there, frowning discontently. “You owe me big, Conaer.” she quietly whined. Kasa wanted nothing more but to slap Cobalt across the face. Maybe more than a couple times too. She sighed, took her pack off around her chest/shoulder, untied her belt, slowly took off her robe-shirt as she glared at Cobalt. All she had on was a tan shirt. Slowly she lifted the shirt, including her braw. Her breasts were about medium, not big or small. They were puffy, and fibrous and dense like all blooming flowers were.
Cobalt nodded and sighed. “alrighty, throw your stuff back on…” he said nodding. “follow close… Conaer if anywhere is at the research facility. That means were going to have to break in. I will dress in my army suit… And honestly I am not as ill informed as you think , you’re an Airmecia.. An earth weaver… I could tell by your tattoo’s, I lived with them for three years… anyways… I want you to shift, Il take you in as a subject, that way we can stealth fully get him the hell out of those holding chambers… then well use the sewers from the basement, to get to the subway, from the subway to the only station in the west sanction. Then well run to the parking lot and get my vehicle, and hitch out of the gate… we have to be quick to get this done right though.” he said seriously and sternly.
As soon as the command was given, Kasa covered herself and dressed. Cobalt didn’t even make a face at her. In a way, it angered her. She felt violated and angry. She continued to glare at him, even as he told out the whole plan. It was impressive, but she still wasn’t entirely impressed with his personality. At the moment, she didn’t want to say anything, especially since he knew about earth weavers and their delicate respect for their bodies and nature.
Fully clothed, she folded her arms, and just stepped up to him for following range, not close however. She had enough of this guy.
“Also… try to keep up… and keep out of your shape until we get to the east sanctum gate…” he said with a very serious tone. He started to run out of the bar tossing the keys at Alfred. He kept his pace up quickly. He ran through the crowd keeping his speed up but low enough for her to keep her pace too. The building flew by as they ran through the city. They eventually got to the car park. He jumped the gate of the building and ran up the ramp. Cobalts car was parked in the last row. He ran quickly jumping into it and stripping down to nothing than putting on the clothes. The car was rather messy, not very clean. He looked at Kasa.
“ don’t mind the mess.” he said. Backing the vehicle out of the parking space, they were on their way. “Hold on!” he said starting off very fast, with tires squealing.
Kasa only rode in a car a couple times when she was younger, when an family member who visited cities frequently would being odd machines to show everyone at the village. However, Cobalt’s driving was something. Kasa flew back in the seat, without a seatbelt on. She clung to the arm rests with her nails digging into it like a cat. Finally when the momentum agreed with her..
“Kasa. My name I Kasa by the way.” she said hesitantly, worried about his driving.
“thaaaaaaaaats Nice…” he said taking the curves like dimes, speeding around traffic left and right. The people were scared to press on their gas as he sped through their lanes. “ Sorry , driving slow isn’t in my agenda, so a seat belt would be a good idea..” he said zipping in and out of traffic. They eventually got to the gate. “change!” he yelled slowing down to an slowed pace , lining up with everyone else. “ get down on the floor and use the blanket to cover yourself.” he said trying to scan the area.
Kasa didn’t know what a seatbelt was. Instead she was looking at the ceiling for this seat belt he spoke about. She was starting to feel sick from motion sickness. When Cobalt came to a stop, she fell forward a little, feeling dizzy-but made it into her cat form, trying her best to hide until a blanket amongst the mess. Her black tail stuck out.
Cobalt saw the tail in the corner of his eye and hid it underneath the blanket quickly. “DON’T MAKE A SOUND!” He whispered. The army guardsman checked his car and nodded. “your clean” the soldier said. Cobalt nodded and continued down the road. He seen the research facility already. This area of the city was fill only with Industrial and Military, no homes, nothing. He kept driving until he got to the facility.
“ I am going to take a rope and use that as a restraint, we have to make this look real as possible.” he said quickly.
“What real as possible?” asked Kasa curiously, poking her out from under the blanket, her black velvet fur shinning in what little sun was pouring in through the window.
“What are we doing?” the car ride still was making her sick to her stomach. Her head felt like it was spinning.
“Were sneaking you into the level with conaer, bustin conaer out and putting you in his cell…Joking… were then running to the basement, sewers… then subway, then carp-” he thought for a minute and realized he was already in his car… “ I guess were sneaking on foot out… the best thing to do is well were in the subway , to wait till night fall and go then… well have an easier time getting out” he said shaking his head. “you ready?”…
“Nnngghh..” groaned Kasa. “Yeah, sure..” she said, laying down in the back seat.
He looked back and nodded. “alright lets go …”
Kasa nodded, or what she could in her best way. She opened the door with a claw and slipped out, snarling and hissing at Cobalt as the rope around her neck was being tugged.
“cant tell if your acting or your really pissed off… what ever , just keep it up.” he said entering the building,
Carefully, they chose the one who would be the watcher over the weapon.
